Since 2003 a widespread campaign of violence and intimidation has been waged against the black African peoples of Darfur that has already left more than 2.5 million people permanently displaced from their homes, 4 million dependent on humanitarian aid, and has claimed as many as 400,000 lives. Those who have survived struggle on with nothing.
Fund4Darfur raises money and awareness to help support survivors of the conflict in Darfur - those living in refugee camps in the region and those seeking refuge in the UK – all of whom desperately need our help. Fund4Darfur provides textbooks for children in refugee camps so they might have a chance at a better future for themselves, and slow-burning stoves for women who must leave the camps to collect firewood, and thus face rape and sexual violence at the hands of Janjawiid militia.
In the UK, Fund4Darfur helps destitute Darfurian refugees facing possible deportation back to Khartoum with legal advice and English language support. Fund4Darfur also campaigns to help end the crisis in Darfur, through full deployment of UN peace-keeping troops and the immediate arrest of the men wanted for crimes against humanity in Darfur.
