The Newcastle Evening Chronicle are championing the building of Maggie's North East (cancer caring centre) at the Freeman Hospital. In our region more than 15,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Maggie's North East will provide:

- Information about cancer, its treatment and benefical relaxation techniques

- The opportunity to talk to others who are experiencing similar challenges
- Kids Days to help Children where family members have cancer
