For over 25 years St Catherine’s Hospice has been providing free of charge, high quality end of life care - through its in-patient unit, community care at home and day service programmes - to a population of 550,000 people living across Mid Sussex and East Surrey.
Hospice care is based on a belief that each person is more than their illness, and each of us has unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. St Catherine’s is more than just a building - it is a philosophy of care. The charity believes that alongside expert medical and nursing care, a person’s practical, emotional, social and spiritual concerns should be cared for as well. Providing this highly personal, holistic approach to care requires time, skill and experience from a multi-professional team.
It costs approximately £7.8 million a year to run St Catherine’s, with only 30% of this coming from Government sources.
By pledging to do a sponsored parachute jump you can raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice and have the experience of a lifetime. Jumping from a perfectly serviceable aeroplane takes a good deal of courage. Just ask your friends, family and work colleagues how much they are prepared to pay not to jump out of an aircraft, and put that money to the cause.
